Man is charged with having knife in public place in Kells

A man charged with having an offensive weapon – a knife – in a public place at Church Road in Kells – has been further remanded in custody.

Glen Fenton (21), of Maybin Park in Kells, is charged in relation to January 10 this year.

He is also charged with causing criminal damage to a window on the same date.

He appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 24 via video link from Maghaberry Jail.

The defendant was further remanded in custody and the case adjourned to February 7.
