A Ballymena woman has been fined £200 and ordered to pay £250 compensation to a woman she assaulted at a house party last May.
Kirsty Barr (32), of Waring Street, pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault when she appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 31.
She had a previously clear record.
The court heard the injured party suffered bruising and swelling to her face.
Defence solicitor Adrian Harvey said it appeared there had been an “altercation” involving others and the defendant had suffered a “busted lip” and reacted.
