DOZENS of new banners are now lining the streets of Ballymena town centre.

The banners say ‘Get into Ballymena’.

The banners are sky blue and feature the town’s Seven Towers logo.

It is understood it is a ‘branding’ project aimed at shoppers and town centre users.

A Mid and East Antrim Council spokesperson told Ballymena Daily on Tuesday: “The new banners are to make the most of Ballymena’s Public Realm Scheme to brighten the town centre and attract footfall.

“We continuously invest in our town centres across Mid and East Antrim to encourage people to visit and spend more time in our high streets.

“Ballymena is one of Northern Ireland’s most well established market towns and this latest initiative, along with new artwork, planted flowers and the events space at the Harmony Hub is all part of plans to boost our local economy and make Mid and East Antrim an attractive place to live and work in.”

The spokeswoman said there were around 40 banners and they cost £5,180 including design, print and installation.Pictures: Diamond’s News.
