THE renowned Irish Game Fair and Fine Food Festival is set to receive a £15,000 sponsorship boost from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council if approved at Monday night’s Council meeting (24 February 2020).
The Council has supported the prestigious event since 2013 with it being recognised as one of the showcase exhibitions in the Borough’s events programme.
Scheduled to be held this year on June 27 and 28, the annual Game Fair attracts crowds in excess of 25,000 and generates a visitor and participant spend of over half a million pounds.
Welcoming the proposal, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth said: “The Game Fair is an annual highlight for the Borough and I am delighted to see Council support for this excellent event continue to grow.
“I welcome this opportunity to increase Council backing for it and look forward to welcoming the many thousands of people who flock to it every year.”
