Air Ambulance lands in middle of Ballymena housing estate in response to medical emergency

THE Air Ambulance helicopter landed in the centre of a Ballymena housing estate around 5pm on Sunday in connection with a medical emergency.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service told ‘Ballymena Daily’ the helicopter was called to the scene but it was then not required.

An eye-witness said: “The helicopter was only on the ground for a short time and nobody was taken away in it.”

It is understood a female went to Antrim Area Hospital by road.

The helicopter landed at a grass area close to houses and a play park at Dunclug Park.
