ALDERMAN Stewart McDonald has welcomed action which has been taken regarding a kerb outside Carnmoyne Residential Home in Ahoghill.
The TUV councillor said: “Some months ago I was contacted by Carnmoyne Residential Home in Ahoghill about kerbing which prevented residents in wheel chairs from getting down into the village and was hindering others with mobility issues.
“I am pleased that after lobbying on the issue the kerb has been lowered and that elderly people will no longer face this difficulty.
“It is my hope that residents will feel safer now when they go out to Ahoghill itself. If this helps the residents become more of a part of the life of the village it can only be a good thing”.
