AS localised restrictions officially enter their fifth day in Ballymena and the BT43 postcode area 6 new covid cases have been reported in Mid & East Antrim.
7 new cases were recorded in the district the previous day.
There were 163 new cases reported across Northern Ireland in the last day, up from the previous daily figure of 149.
There have been 793 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 21,333 people tested in the area since the pandemic started.
The 6 new cases were detected from 199 tests.
There have been 776 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey – a rise of 5 since yesterday – and 455 – up 3 – in Causeway Coast & Glens.
The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 8,943.
Out of the 163 new cases in Northern Ireland in the last day, Belfast had 37 followed by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon with 30.
Newry, Mourne & Down had 26 and Ards & North Down had 17.
Lisburn & Castlereagh had 15 and Derry City & Strabane had 12.
Mid & East Antrim had 6 and Antrim & Newtownabbey and Mid Ulster each had 5.
Fermanagh & Omagh had 4; Causeway Coast & Glens 3 and the locations of 3 cases were listed as ‘not known’.
The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health is 575.
Two new deaths were recorded – one in Belfast and the other in Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon. One of the deaths occurred in the last day and the other earlier but it has only now been included in the statistics.
In Mid & East Antrim, since the pandemic started, the number of people who died is 46 according to Department of Health statistics.
The Health Department says there have been 61 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.
