AS localised restrictions officially enter their fourth day in Ballymena and the BT43 postcode area 7 new covid cases have been reported in Mid & East Antrim.

9 new cases were recorded in the district the previous day.

There were 149 new cases reported across Northern Ireland in the last day, up from the previous daily figure of 129.

There have been 787 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 21,134 people tested in the area since the pandemic started.

There have been 771 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey – a rise of 6 since yesterday – and 452 – up 2 – in Causeway Coast & Glens.

The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 8,780.

Out of the 149 new cases in Northern Ireland in the last day, Belfast had 43 followed by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon with 32.

Ards & North Down had 13 and Derry City & Strabane had 12 whilst Lisburn & Castlereagh had 11.

Newry, Mourne & Down had 10.

Fermanagh & Omagh had 8; Mid & East Antrim 7 and Antrim & Newtownabbey 6.

Mid Ulster had 3; Causeway Coast & Glens 2 and the locations of 2 cases were listed as ‘not known’.

 

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health is 573.

 

In Mid & East Antrim, since the pandemic started, the number of people who died is 46 according to Department of Health statistics.

The Health Department says there have been 61 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.
