AT the end of the first week of localised restrictions in Ballymena and the BT43 area 7 new covid cases have been reported in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

11 new cases were recorded in the local district the previous day.

There were 176 new cases reported across Northern Ireland in the last day – down from the previous daily figure of 222.

There have been 811 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 21,782 tests since the pandemic started.

 

There have been 796 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey – a rise of 6 since yesterday – and 462 – up 5 – in Causeway Coast & Glens.

The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 9,341.

Out of the 176 new cases in Northern Ireland in the last day, Belfast had 57 followed by Newry, Mourne & Down with 30.

Derry City & Strabane had 26 and Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon had 13.

Ards & North Down had and Lisburn & Castlereagh each had 10.

Mid & East Antrim had 7 and Antrim & Newtownabbey had 6 as did Fermanagh & Omagh.

Causeway Coast & Glens 5 and Mid Ulster 4.

The locations of 2 cases were listed as ‘not known’.

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 575.

Figures for deaths are not released at weekends.

In Mid & East Antrim, since the pandemic started, the number of people who died is 46 according to Department of Health statistics.

The Health Department says there have been 61 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.
