Ballymena Court hears man claims he found ‘sleeping tablets on street’

A MAN told police he found “sleeping tablets” on the street.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, Alexandru Zoica (30), of Albert Place in the town, admitted a charge of possessing Diazepam.

A prosecutor said police found the defendant had three blue tablets which Zoica said were “sleeping tablets which he had found on the street”.

At court the defence solicitor was Stewart Ballentine.

Zoica, who the court heard is Romanian, committed the offence on May 1 this year and was fined £200.
