POLICE found a man had a taser, a Stanley Knife, cannabis and mephedrone which came to light in the early hours of July 11 this year, Ballymena Magistrates Court was told.
Craig McCaughey (29) was in the Corran Mews area of Larne when spoken to by the PSNI.
Defence barrister Ben Thompson said it was “in many ways a strange case” as the court would be alert to the dangers of somebody walking around the streets with “very two very dangerous items on their person”.
He said the defendant had “issues” and could not continue to carry such items “for whatever justification” he believed he had.
District Judge Nigel Broderick put the defendant, of Mounthill Manor in Larne, on Probation for a a year.
