Ballymena Court hears man is charged with arson attack on a car

A MAN charged with an arson attack on a car and common assault against the vehicle’s owner has had bail granted but is awaiting a place at a hostel which are like “hen’s teeth” at the moment, a defence lawyer told Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Jake Gilmore (23), whose address was given as Curran Road in Larne, is accused of committing offences on July 19 this year.

He appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court, sitting in Antrim, on Thursday from Maghaberry Prison.

The case has been adjourned to September.
