Ballymena Court hears three men each deny charge linked to alleged ‘sectarian’ attack

THREE men accused of what a defence lawyer described as an alleged “sectarian” attack on a man are each denying a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, Ballymena Magistrates Court has been told.

The accused are Stephen Morton (30), with an address initially listed as Greenland Crescent but now given as elsewhere in Larne; Gareth Luney (30), of Blackthorn Rise in Larne and Jonathan Karl McCloskey (27), with an address initially given as Green Link but now listed as elsewhere in Larne.

The charges relate to an alleged incident in Larne in November 23 last year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court the cases were adjourned to October 22 to attempt to fix a contest date.
