A 69-year-old woman has been given three penalty points and has been fined £60 for speeding.
Sylvia Amos, of Glenwood in Ahoghill, was detected at Cushendall Road, Ballymena, on January 18 this year.
Ballymena Magistrates Court heard the speed at 11am was 39mph in a 30mph zone and despite being offered a fixed penalty she failed to take it up within the time limit.
Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said the defendant’s licence had been away for renewal and she was also in the “throes of moving house” and a combination of both factors meant the fixed penalty was not taken up.
District Judge Nigel Broderick said he could give the defendant credit for her “clear record” and “long driving record without blemish”.
