Ballymena Court: Judge says man needs to address cannabis issue

A JUDGE said a man needs to address a cannabis “problem” after noting the defendant had previous convictions.

District Judge Nigel Broderick was speaking at Ballymena Magistrates Court in relation to Ronald Robinson (42), formerly with an address listed as Shancoole, Ballymena, but now of Ard-na-maine in Cullybackey, who admitted a possession of cannabis offence relating to January 15 this year.

The case was adjourned to October for a pre-sentence report.

The judge said: “If he has got a drug problem we can’t keep fining him, we need to address it”.
