Ballymena Court: Man is fined £100 for possessing one Diazepam tablet

A MAN described in court as a “recovering heroin addict” has been fined £100 after admitting possession of one Diazepam tablet on June 24 this year.

James Michael Murphy (49), with an address listed as Richmond Park, Ballymena, had the case mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

A defence lawyer accepted the defendant had a lengthy record and had trouble with drugs in the past “but he has been keeping his nose clean”.

The lawyer said the tablet belonged to another person but it was found on the defendant’s property.
