Ballymena Court

POLICE saw a vehicle driving “extremely slowly” at 2am on October 31 this year and almost collide with a traffic island, Ballymena Magistrates Court was told.

Curtis Thompson (24), came to police attention in the Walnut Grove area of Larne.

The defendant had an alcohol in breath reading of 103 – the legal limit is 35.

Defence solicitor Sara Edge said the defendant was “extremely remorseful” and had been socialising within a “family bubble”.

The defendant, of Bay Road Manor in Larne, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £300.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said it was a “high reading”.
