BALLYMENA COVID SHOCK: Grieving dad tells how daughter (32) was ‘killed by this unfortunate virus’

A DAD whose daughter died, aged just 32, in Ballymena said it was because of Covid-19.

Sympathy has been expressed following the passing of Andreea Maftei who was well-known in Ballymena town centre where she is understood to have worked in a cafe.

Her father Mircea Serban, who is from Romania, said in a social media message that Andreea passed away on Thursday.

A Facebook picture showed flowers in Ballymena town centre.

 

A translation of his message said Andrea was “killed by this unfortunate virus that killed hundreds of thousands of people.”

Messages of sympathy have appeared on social media.

This message was written beside flowers which were placed in Ballymena town centre.

 

It is understood Andreea had worked in a cafe in Ballymena for several years.

Flowers were placed outside premises in the town.

A message written beside the flowers said: ‘We’ll never forget you Andreea’.
