Broughshane incident: Man is charged with possessing Samurai Sword as offensive weapon in public place

A MAN has been charged at Ballymena Magistrates Court with alleged offences including possessing a Samurai Sword in connection with an incident in Broughshane on Saturday.

Blair Rainey (24) faces a second charge of possessing an offensive weapon – a spanner – in a public place.

He is also charged with assaulting a male and possessing cannabis.

The case was adjourned to October 22.
