A CALL is being made for Mid & East Antrim to create a ‘recovery strategy’ aimed at helping those whose mental health has been affected by the pandemic.
A Notice of Motion has been proposed by Alliance councillor Lauren Gray, seconded by her party colleague Gerardine Mulvenna.
It is on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting of the Council in Ballymena and reads: ‘That this Council takes action now to tackle the growing mental health pandemic in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, by creating a mental health and well-being recovery strategy to run alongside other recovery plans.
‘This should include working across Mid and East Antrim to provide effective support for
mental health need, expanding on current mental health and wellbeing programmes.’
