THE defacing of a poster belonging to Sinn Fein’s North Antrim election candidate Cara McShane with what is being interpreted by many as a depiction of a ‘gun-sight’ has been condemned.

Cara McShane who is also a councillor for The Glens area of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council put a picture on social media showing the poster in an area between Rasharkin and Kilrea.

In her post she said: ‘Sinister or just senseless, this type of behaviour shouldn’t deflect voters from the real problems that Brexit will do to our area and what the real issues are in this election on 12th December.’

Among those who condemned the incident were Ballymoney Ulster Unionist councillor Darryl Wilson who said on ‘Twitter’: ‘Disgusting behaviour, seems to be happening more and more… Pay no heed!’
