DAMAGE was caused during a break-in at the Waveney Road Housing Recycling Centre in Ballymena.
A spokesperson said: “The PSNI are appealing for information following a burglary at the Household Recycling Centre in Ballymena, near Waveney Road.
“We believe it has happened between 5pm on Saturday 16th November and approximately 8am on Sunday 17th November. Considerable damage has been caused to several storage containers as a result.
“If you have any information, please contact Ballymena PSNI on 101 and quote reference number CC 569 17/11/19. Alternatively, anonymous information can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The site is operated by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council and a spokesperson told ‘Ballymena Daily’: “Waveney Road recycling centre was broken into sometime on Saturday night or in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The incident has been reported to the PSNI and we would urge anyone with information to contact them on 101.
“There was minor damage caused to the fence, two padlocks and a door. The centre opened as usual on Sunday at 1pm. Nothing was stolen.”
