Coronavirus pandemic: Confirmed cases double in four days in Mid & East Antrim

THE latest government statistics, released on Tuesday, have revealed the number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus continues to rise in the Mid & East Antrim Borough Council area.

The figure is 32 – up four from yesterday.

On Friday the number of confirmed cases in Mid & East Antrim was 16 – meaning the number of cases in the area in the last four days has doubled.

There are 36 cases in Antrim and Newtownabbey – an increase of two from Monday – and 16 in the Causeway Coast & Glens area – a rise of five in 24 hours.

Across Northern Ireland the number of people who have died has risen by six in a day to 28 and the number of confirmed cases rose by 53 from Monday from 533 to 586.
