MID & East Antrim Borough Council has agreed to pay £2,000 to support a ‘high profile familiarisation trip’ in the area.
Council minutes referred to a report prepared for councillors which sought approval to support ‘hosting a familiarisation trip for a new high profile tour operator’.
Councillors were told there were “low numbers” for ‘meetings, incentives, conferences and events’.
The minutes said HelmsBriscoe is a global leader in the meetings and incentive market and provide international clients with recommendations on venues.
Councillors were told the familiarisation trip included Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort, the ‘Toast of the Coast’ food tour and a range of experiences at Glenarm Castle.
