Council hopes to attract more visitors from Canada

The Gobbins is a popular tourism attraction in Mid & East Antrim.

THERE are hopes that involvement by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council at a tourism roadshow in Canada will lead to more visitors.

The Council had a role in the Tourism Ireland Canada Roadshow which visited cities including Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.

There were presentations to over 300 travel agents, tour operators and the media.

A Council report says: ‘The interest in the region was good with a strong interest in the outdoors and heritage.

‘Over 100 agents asked to be added to our database and kept up to date with what is happening in the region and with specific requests. All have now been contacted in follow-up correspondence.’
