Cullybackey Orange Lodge have been recognised for the sterling community work they carried out during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
A lodge spokesperson said on social media: “We welcomed mayor of Mid & East Antrim Borough Council to Cullybackey Orange Hall where he presented the Lodge with a certificate of recognition for the work carried out by members in the community during the COVID19 pandemic.
“Food parcels were sourced, made up and distributed throughout the community to those in need and parcels of much needed supplies were also donated to local nursing homes.
“It was a pleasure to welcome the mayor to the village again”.
The spokesperson thanked Mid & East Antrim Borough Council for their financial assistance towards purchasing the food parcels.
The Lodge spokesperson added: “Thanks also go to Cllr Timothy Gaston for nominating us for the award and to Cllr Matthew Armstrong for his assistance in sourcing supplies as both were unfortunately unable to attend today due to other commitments.
“Also missing from photo is Bro Harold McCloy who we are grateful to for all his admin work and also PPE supplies.”
