Eight new Covid cases have been reported in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

2 new cases were recorded in the local district the previous day.

There were 220 new cases reported across Northern Ireland in the last day – up from the previous daily figure of 75.

There have been 824 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 22,308 tests since the pandemic started.

The 8 new cases locally came from 231 tests.

There have been 806 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey – a rise of 5 since yesterday – and 467 – up 1 – in Causeway Coast & Glens.

The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 9,761.

Out of the 220 new cases in Northern Ireland in the last day, Belfast had 65; Derry City & Strabane had 63 and Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon 20.

Newry, Mourne & Down had 19 cases and Lisburn & Castlereagh had 15 cases.

Mid Ulster had 11 cases and Mid & East Antrim 8 cases.

Ards & North Down had 7 cases and Antrim & Newtownabbey and Fermanagh & Omagh each had 5.

Causeway Coast & Glens had 1 case and the location of 1 case was marked as ‘not known’.

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 577.

In Mid & East Antrim, since the pandemic started, the number of people who died is 46 according to Department of Health statistics.

The Health Department says there have been 61 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.
