‘Employment Academies’ boosted to tune of £100,000

EMPLOYMENT ‘Academies’ have received £100,000 worth of backing, Mid and East Antrim councillors have been told.

The sectors include training in retail start-ups, hospitality and catering, health and social care, welding and childminding.

The academies aim to provide the unemployed with access to employment opportunities and to get qualifications.

A Council report said that as well the almost £100,000 funding from Council there is another £91,000 from ‘partnership match-funding and in-kind contributions’.
