Family and friends will gather in Ballymena this Sunday to say final goodbyes to Andreea (32) who died after contracting Covid-19

FAMILY and friends of a 32-year-old Ballymena cafe worker who died after contracting coronavirus will gather to say their final goodbyes to her this Sunday.

Andreea Maftei, of Ballyloughan Park, Ballymena, tragically passed away on August 13 at Antrim Area Hospital.

She was well-known particularly through her work in the Nobel Cafe.

Candles were lit outside Nobel Cafe last week in memory of Andreea.


Dozens of tributes were paid to Andreea last week and flowers were placed outside the cafe alongside candles.

A notice on the James Henry Funeral Services social media page reads: ‘Andreea Maftei, 13th August 2020, passed away suddenly at Antrim Area Hospital after a short illness aged 32.

‘Late of 6 Ballyloughan Park, Ballymena. Beloved wife of Ovidiu. Maintaining current restrictions and social distancing, family and friends wishing to pay their respects may do so on Sunday 23rd August 2020 at Henry’s Funeral Parlour from 12 noon before a private family service at 3:00 pm. Lovingly remembered by her sorrowing husband, family and friends. “Gone too soon”
