A FATHER-of-four from the Toomebridge area has died following a workplace accident.
Adrian McCloskey, believed to have been in his 40s, was working in County Tyrone on Friday when the accident occurred.
The Irish News reports that it is believed he had been working on a building under construction.
Mr McCloskey is particularly well-known in GAA circles in the Toome area and had associations with clubs including Moneyglass.
St Ergnats GAC in Moneyglass said: ‘It was with great sadness that we learnt yesterday of the tragic and untimely passing of our fellow club member Adrian McCloskey.
‘Adrian, known better to us as ‘Bull’ has been a well known character around the club for many years as a player, manger of our senior team and a mentor to our youth.
‘Often in later years Adrian could be seen cheering on and offering advice to his four children as they followed in their fathers footsteps in donning the Moneyglass jersey.
‘We offer our deepest condolences to Ella-Jo, Naoise, Finn and Dara, and the entire family circle at this most difficult time. Mary, Queen of The Gael, pray for him.’
Cargin GAA Club posted a picture of Mr McCloskey on social media with the following message: “It is with extreme sadness that we learned today of the tragic death of Adrian McCloskey.
