Firefighters attend chicken shed blaze near Glarryford

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at a chicken shed near Glarryford on Tuesday.

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said appliances from Ballymena, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Carrickfergus, Magherfelt, Kilrea and Dungiven attended the incident on Frosses Road.

Earlier, a spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with a chicken shed on fire at Frosses Road near Cloughmills.

“No chickens are in the shed.

“If passing on the Frosses Road please do not get distracted by firefighting operations.

“There is thick smoke affecting the area. If travelling on the Frosses Road please slow down, concentrate on the road and use dipped headlights.”
