Friday’s update: 12 covid-related deaths in Northern Ireland

THERE have been 12 more covid-related deaths in Northern Ireland.

1 of those who died was aged between 40-59; 4 were aged between 60-79 and 7 were aged 80 and over.

9 of the deaths occurred in the last 24 hours and 3 before that but have only now been included in the figures by the Department of Health.

The number of covid-related deaths across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is now 962 according to the Department of Health.

According to Department of Health figures there have been 65 covid-linked deaths in Mid & East Antrim.

There were 31 new reported coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

That was the same as the previous day.

The total number of cases in the Mid & East Antrim district since the start of the pandemic is now 2,630.

There were 391 new covid cases in the last 24 hours across Northern Ireland.

That was down from 442 cases the previous day.

The number of covid cases across Northern Ireland since the pandemic started is 51,509.

Statistics show a weekly breakdown of new cases by postcode areas – for example the BT42 and BT43 areas which take in the Ballymena district had 50 and 52 respectively in the last week. The previous figures were 79 and 23.
