Friday’s update: Two covid-related deaths reported in Mid & East Antrim area in last day

TWO covid-related deaths have been reported in Mid & East Antrim area in the last day.

There have been 8 coronavirus-related deaths reported in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours.

The locations of two of the 8 deaths were given as ‘not known’.

The other deaths were in Lisburn & Castlereagh, Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon; Derry City & Strabane and Mid Ulster.

Of the 8 people who died 2 were aged between 60 and 79 and 6 were 80 or over.

The number of covid-related deaths across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is now 760, according to the Department of Health.

According to Department of Health figures there have been 50 covid-linked deaths in Mid & East Antrim.

There were 31 new coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

That was down from 33 cases in the area the previous day.

The total number of cases in the Mid & East Antrim district since the start of the pandemic is now 2,003.

There were 595 new covid cases in the last 24 hours across Northern Ireland.

The number of covid cases across Northern Ireland since the pandemic started is 41,969.

Statistics now show a weekly breakdown of new cases by postcode areas – for example the BT42 and BT43 areas which take in the Ballymena district had 96 and 37 respectively in the last week.
