Lifeboat rescues two after fishing vessel breaks down

TWO people have been rescued after their fishing vessel broke down near Dunseverick on the north coast.

Portrush all weather lifeboat was requested to launch today at 1.30pm.

A statement from Portrush Lifeboat Station said: ‘The small Y boat was launched from the ALB and recovered the two people successfully. They were then taken to Dunseverick Harbour to the waiting Coastguard at 3pm approx.

‘Crew today was Cox Des Austin; Mechanic Mark Mitchell; and Crew Lisa Abernethy; Tim Nelson; Beni McAllister and Ben Durrant. Photos – crew member Tim Nelson.’
