A MAJOR emergency operation was mounted on Friday after a man reportedly fell at the coastline close to a cliff in the Cushendall area.
A large multi-agency response was carried out today after 12.15pm.
Coastguards from Ballycastle, Larne and Portmuck were called out along with Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 199 from Prestwick in Scotland the and the Air Ambulance with a specialist trauma doctor on board.
The man has been transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Portmuck Coastguard said they along with Larne and Ballycastle teams were paged today at 12.15 regarding a man with a “head injury” on the beach near Cushendall.
