A MAN (66) was arrested after police used a ‘stinger’ to stop a car in the Ballymena area and then cash and drugs were seized.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers were on patrol in Ballymena last night when they came across a vehicle that failed to stop.

“A stinger device was used to stop the car and the 66 year old driver arrested.

“A significant amount of suspected Class A drugs were located and a follow up search of a property resulted in £20,000, Class B drugs and drug related materials seized.

“We are all too familiar with the devastation drugs misuse can cause in communities and we are focusing our efforts on removing illegal and dangerous drugs and targeting those involved in the sale and supply.

“If you have information about drug dealing in your community let us know,” the spokesperson added.
