POLICE have charged a man with attempted murder following an incident which allegedly involved a hatchet.
The man was charged to appear at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Saturday.
It is understood the charge relates to an incident at a dwelling in the Clough area in recent days.
It is understood a male was injured and required hospital treatment and his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
In a statement to ‘Ballymena Daily’ TUV councillor Chrissy Jamieson said he was “shocked” by an incident in Clough.
He added: “This is a quiet, law abiding community which has been shaken to its core”.
