A MAN charged with attempting to import a gun from the United States has been further remanded in custody but is set to make a bail application on November 9.
Kristopher Darren Scott (38), of Frosses Road near Dunloy, is also accused of attempted possession of a firearm and ammunition and possessing diazepam with intent to supply.
The charges relate to October 13 this year when the National Crime Agency (NCA) and PSNI were involved in a joint operation.
Ahead of the court appearance the NCA said the weapon was found in a parcel containing computer parts.
The interception was made by Border Force officers at an international mail depot close to Stansted Airport near London.
The court charge sheet named the weapon as a SIG P20 Pistol and said the discovery also involved two 9mm Magazines and 52 rounds of Parabellum Luger 9mm ammunition.
At Coleraine Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena on Monday, the defence solicitor was Garrett Greene who said a bail application would be made next week.
