Man is accused of having brush shaft as offensive weapon on Valentine’s Day

A MAN is accused of assaulting and making a threat to kill a female and possessing a brush shaft as an offensive weapon on Valentine’s Day this year.

He is Blair Rainey (24).

A defence lawyer said the defendant was admitting causing criminal damage to a man’s Audi A4 but was pleading not guilty to other charges relating to February 14 – including possessing a brush shaft as an offensive weapon in a public place – in Ballymena.

Not guilty pleas were also entered regarding assaulting and making a threat to kill a female on that date.

The defendant has admitted assaulting a police officer on March 1 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court the cases were adjourned to October.
