Man pleads not guilty to having a bamboo cane as an offensive weapon in Ballymena

A MAN has pleaded not guilty to charges including allegedly possessing a bamboo cane as an offensive weapon in the Tullagh Brow area of Ballymena.

In relation to the same date – September 15 this year – Michael Johnston (32), of Riverside Terrace, Toome Road, Ballymena, also denies charges of assaulting two males and making a threat to kill one of the males.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, where the defence solicitor was Stewart Ballentine, the case was adjourned to November 19 to fix a date for a contest.
