Broughshane-based Slemish Design Studio Architects were crowned winners in two separate categories at the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2019, picking up awards for Best Architectural Practice (Residential) and Innovative Use of Smart Home Technology, at a ceremony in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Mid and East Antrim Borough was well represented at the awards night, which was hosted by broadcaster Pamela Ballantine, with four Mid & East Antrim area property and design companies all making the shortlist of finalists.
Carrickfergus firm, 9 Yards Architecture, was shortlisted in the Architectural Practice of the Year (Commercial) and Architectural Practice of the Year (Residential) categories; while the team from Lambrequin Interior Design, also based in Carrickfergus, were finalists in the Best Interior Design of the Year award.

Now in its fifth year, the event rewards the high achievers in the property market, from top names to newcomers and individuals.
This year’s event received more entries than ever, with the judging panel made up of a number of construction, housing and property experts led by Professor Alastair Adair, deputy vice-chancellor of Ulster University.
Councillor Morrow, said: “I am delighted that the calibre of this borough’s architecture and interior design industries has been recognised by the prestigious Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2019, with Slemish Design Studio Architects in Ballymena picking up not one but two of the coveted awards on this occasion.
“I heartily congratulate all those involved with this very successful and well established local firm on what is a great honour and true recognition of the high standard of their work in the design and construction of industry-leading, modern homes.
