Mini-Twelfth parade to be held in Ballymena on Monday June 24

One of the bands due to take part is North Ballymena Protestant Boys Flute Band

THIS Monday, June 24, sees the annual Ballymena District LOL No8 Mini 12th Band parade in Ballymena.

The first band is due to move off from Wakehurst Rd. at 7.30 pm.

The route is as follows:

Wakehurst Road
Queen Street
Salisbury Square
Harryville Bridge
Waveney Road
Galgorm Road
North Road
Ballymoney Road
Mount Street
Thomas Street
Market Road
Broughshane Street
Church Street
Bridge Street
Harryville Bridge
Henry Street
Larne Street
Larne Road
Wakehurst Road

The PSNI Ballymena Facebook page said: ‘The parade will be policed in partnership with marshals ensuring everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

‘Please note that as in previous years the zero tolerance policy towards on street drinking will be strictly enforced by the PSNI. If anybody chooses to drink on the street they will be challenged by the PSNI.’

The Parades Commission website says 14 bands are due to take part.

It lists the following bands as due to take part: Pride of the Maine Flute Band, Protestant Boys Flute Band, Kells Sons of Ulster Flute Band, Kellswater Flute Band, Sons of Ulster Randalstown, Ahoghill Accordion Band, Ballee Blues and Royals Flute Band, Craigwarren Flute Band, Glenhugh Flute Band, Ballymena Corps of Drums, Pettigrew Memorial Accordion Band, Kells Rising Sons of William Flute Band, Ballykeel Loyal Sons of Ulster, North Ballymena Protestant Boys Flute Band.
