Minute’s Silence held at Council meeting in Ballymena following death of Sinn Fein councillor’s wife

MID & East Antrim Borough councillors held a Minute’s Silence at their main monthly meeting in Ballymena on Monday night following the passing of Carnlough Sinn Fein councillor James McKeown’s wife Mona.

Mrs McKeown died on October 9.

Mayor, Councillor Maureen Morrow, said: “I was saddened to learn of the recent death of Mona McKeown, wife of our fellow councillor James McKeown.

“On behalf of Council I would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to James and his family circle at this very difficult time.”

The Mayor also passed on sympathy to two council employees who suffered bereavements and councillors then stood for a minute’s silence.
