Monday’s update: 5 new reported coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in last day

THERE have been 5 new reported Covid cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

There were 58 new cases reported across the whole of Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours.

There have been 651 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 16,467 people tested in the area since the pandemic started.

 

There were 42 new cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last week – the fourth highest rise.

Over the last 14 days Mid & East Antrim had the second highest number of new cases – 140 – compared to Belfast’s 223.

 

There have been 612 cases in Antrim & Newtownabbey – a rise of 4 since yesterday – and 418 – a rise of 3 – in Causeway Coast & Glens.

The total number of cases in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is 7,245.

 

Out of the 58 new cases in Northern Ireland in the last day, Belfast had 16; Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon had 13 and Newry, Mourne & Down had 7.

Mid & East Antrim had 5 and Antrim & Newtownabbey had four.

 

Causeway Coast & Glens and Ards & North Down each had 3 and Fermanagh & Omagh and Lisburn & Castlereagh each had 2.

Mid Ulster and Derry City & Strabane each had 1 new case and the location of 1 new case was marked as ‘not known’ on the official chart.

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 560.

 

In Mid & East Antrim, since the pandemic started, the number of people who died is 44 according to Department of Health statistics.

The Health Department says there have been 61 deaths in Antrim and Newtownabbey and 39 in Causeway Coast and Glens.

The Department of Health has not recorded any deaths for a number of days.
