MID & East Antrim continues to register the lowest daily number of new covid cases in Northern Ireland.

16 new cases were reported in the local borough out of 616 new cases in Northern Ireland.

The overall number of cases in Northern Ireland is now 14,690.

There were no covid-related deaths reported in the latest information released by the Department of Health.

There have been 914 cases in Mid & East Antrim out of 24,175 tests since the pandemic started.

The 16 new cases locally came from 180 tests.

There were 158 new cases in Belfast and 139 in the Derry City & Strabane council area in the last day with 85 in Newry, Mourne & Down.

Fermanagh and Omagh had 46; Lisburn & Castlereagh 34; Antrim & Newtownabbey 31 and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon had 28 cases.

Mid Ulster had 26; Ards & North Down 21 and Causeway Coast & Glens had 17.

Mid & East Antrim had 16 and the locations of 15 cases were marked as ‘not known’.

The number of people who have died across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began, according to the Department of Health, is 584.
