Monday’s update: Ten covid-related deaths reported in Northern Ireland in last day

TEN covid-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland in the last day.

One of those who died was aged between 40-59; five were aged between 60 and 79 and four were aged 80 and over.

Belfast had 4 deaths; Mid Ulster 2 and the others were in Derry City & Strabane; Mid Ulster; Newry, Mourne & Down and Causeway Coast & Glens. The local government district of one death was given as ‘not known’.

The number of covid-related deaths across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is now 791, according to the Department of Health.

According to Department of Health figures there have been 53 covid-linked deaths in Mid & East Antrim.

There were 42 new coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

That was up from 36 cases in the area the previous day.

The total number of cases in the Mid & East Antrim district since the start of the pandemic is now 2,102.

There were 471 new covid cases in the last 24 hours across Northern Ireland.

The number of covid cases across Northern Ireland since the pandemic started is 43,388.

Statistics now show a weekly breakdown of new cases by postcode areas – for example the BT42 and BT43 areas which take in the Ballymena district had 90 and 23 respectively in the last week.


The previous week the figures were 96 and 37.
