Monday’s update: Three covid-related deaths reported across Northern Ireland as number of confirmed cases since pandemic began passes 50,000

3 covid-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland in the latest figures released by the Department of Health.

2 of those who died were aged between 60-79 and 1 was aged 80 and over.

The deaths happened in Causeway Coast & Glens; Mid Ulster and Newry, Mourne & Down.

The number of reported cases of coronavirus in Northern Ireland since the pandemic began has now passed 50,000.

The number of covid-related deaths across Northern Ireland since the pandemic began is now 936 according to the Department of Health.

According to Department of Health figures there have been 61 covid-linked deaths in Mid & East Antrim.

There were 31 new coronavirus cases in Mid & East Antrim in the last day.

That was up from 26 the previous day.

The total number of cases in the Mid & East Antrim district since the start of the pandemic is now 2,516.

There were 280 new covid cases in the last 24 hours across Northern Ireland.

That was down from 342 cases the previous day.

The number of covid cases across Northern Ireland since the pandemic started is 50,064.

Statistics show a weekly breakdown of new cases by postcode areas – for example the BT42 and BT43 areas which take in the Ballymena district had 50 and 52 respectively in the last week. The previous figures were 79 and 23.
