DUP Mayor, Councillor Peter Johnston, told the councillor: “You are very welcome and we look forward to working with you”.

Councillor Reid thanked the Mayor for the kind welcome.

Councillor Reid wished to pay tribute to his predecessor Muriel Burnside who recently retired from the role. He was co-opted onto the Council by his party as her replacement.

He said it was a “pleasure and honour” to be co-opted as a councillor for the Braid electoral area which he said was home to “great people”.
