A NEW speed limit is proposed on parts of roads between Ahoghill and Gracehill.

The Department for Infrastructure contacted Mid & East Antrim Borough Council seeking comments about a plan to bring in a 40mph limit on portions of Galgorm Road, Lisnafillon Road and Ballykennedy Road.

A letter to councillors said the aim was to reduce the speed of vehicles passing residential addresses as well as slowing traffic on the approaches to Ahoghill and Gracehill.

  • There is a 30 mph limit from Galgorm to past Gracehill, and again from just after Ballykenedy Road to Ahoghill. There are only half a dozen houses on the half mile between those limits. Any change is unnecessary.
