Norrie Ramsay co-opted to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council

Norman (Norrie) Ramsay has been co-opted to replace Danny Kinahan on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, who stood down after being appointed as the new Northern Ireland Veterans’ Commissioner.

Alderman Mark Cosgrove, Ulster Unionist Group Leader on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council said: “I am delighted to welcome Norrie Ramsay to the Ulster Unionist group on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.

“Norrie has big shoes to fill following Danny Kinahan`s new appointment, but I am more than confident that he can do it given his work ethic and commitment to public service.

“He will hit the ground running and will ensure that the people of Ballyclare are well represented by strong Ulster Unionist voices through Norrie Ramsay and his council colleague Vera McWilliam.”

Councillor Norrie Ramsay said: “I am happy to have been co-opted by my Party Leader on to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough council as Danny Kinahan’s replacement. I wish Danny all the best in his new role.

“I am looking forward to working with my Ulster Unionist colleagues and fellow councillors in Antrim and Newtownabbey. I want to thank Vera McWilliam and Jim Bingham for all their help and assistance in the past and I will continue to work closely with Vera to represent all the people of Ballyclare in the months and years ahead.”
